At the time of its construction in 1947, Andrews Hall was considered to be one of the most modern buildings in the country. Named for Elisha Benjamin Andrews, the president of the University who was instrumental in the admission of women in 1891. Andrews played a key role in the success of Pembroke College. In addition to the various interior upgrades and reconfiguration of bedrooms, Andrews Commons was renovated in 2014 to feature upscale dining, meeting and study spaces.

In my opinion, it's the best freshman dorm since there are walk-in closets, sinks in each room, and ginormous doubles. I loved living there freshman year and the lounge spaces were great communal hang-out spots to make friends. Being able to take the elevator down to the dining hall on cold days is also another plus. Sometimes the water could be a little sus though and there were cases of centipedes.
