As part of Keeney Quadrangle that opened in 1957, Everett House is part of the largest self-contained residential units on campus. It is named for a member of the class of 1885, Professor Walter G. Everett, professor of Latin, philosophy, and natural theology. He taught at Brown from 1890 to 1930, and served as President pro-tempore of the University in 1912-1913. In 2013, Keeney Quad was fully renovated and existing houses were combined creating Everett-Poland. Renovations added elevators, accessible bathrooms and top floor lounges, upgraded lighting and various amenities.
