They're getting renovated one by one which is definitely improving them but living in Grad D which is currently not renovated is a bit dingy. I definitely appreciate having a single and grad singles have great space. However, the building is very concrete brutalist architecture and the kitchen is horrible. The bathrooms aren't bad especially considering you get your own private bathroom for just your mini grad suite. The problem with grad center is that it is very lived in and walls, doors, and other amenities feel very aged and banged up. The laundry is in the basement and a little spooky but I usually find there's a good ratio of machines to people doing laundry at a given point so haven't had too many problems there. Sound proofing isn't the best but I've had worse. Location is pretty great, you're right by Jo's (although if you face Thayer this can lead to a lot of noise at night) and like 5 minutes from the main green/science quad.

underrated dorm! the singles are a comfortable size and with enough decor they can feel really cozy. semi-private bathrooms are also really nice to have. downsides are thin walls (you can hear your suitemates / the people living above & below you pretty regularly) and the kitchens are small / pretty gross. Good place to live alone but not great for groups of friends since there's no common spaces in the building.
